Akwa Ibom is one of the beautiful states in our country Nigeria. The state is located in the South-South geopolitical zone, and is bordered on the east by Cross River State, on the west by Rivers State and Abia State, and on the south by the Atlantic Ocean and the southernmost tip of Cross River State. with a population of over five million people. The state was created in 1987 from the former Cross River State and is currently the highest oil- and gas-producing state in the country. The state's capital is Uyo, with over 500,000 inhabitants. In addition to English, the main spoken languages are Ibibio, Annang, Eket and Oron.
Akwa Ibom is celebrating her 30th anniversary tomorrow and in the spirit of the #OrangeSeptember I have come up with these interesting places you can visit while you're in Akwa Ibom. So without taking you too far, here is your list.
An all-seater national sports stadium located in Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom. The stadium serves as a home to the Nigerian Super Eagles as well as a center for various social, cultural, and religious events. This 30,000 seater ultra modern multipurpose sports complex modeled after Allianz Arena has some unique features such as bullet proof VIP/VVIP sections, box office, collapsible seats, two digital score boards, digital playback screens, digital flood lights, and 30 emergency exits.
